Proactive Investors reports on Boadicea Resources (ASX:BOA) latest announcement having signed a Land Access and Mineral Exploration Agreement with the Western Lands Aboriginal Corporation (Jamukurnu-Yapalikuna) for BOA’s three Koongulla tenements in the Paterson Province of Western Australia.
The Paterson Province in the state’s north hosts the world-class 32-million-ounce Telfer mine as well as developing projects including Rio Tinto Ltd’s (ASX:RIO) 2.2 million tonne copper equivalent Winu and Newcrest Mining Ltd’s (ASX:NCM) 3.4-million-ounce Havieron.
On completion of the application advertising period for Koongulla East, earmarked for October 2021, an on-ground gravity survey will advance over the much-anticipated Telfer-look-a-like dome feature that BOA has identified. The Koongulla Dome, straddles the Koongulla and Koongulla East licences.
Potential company-making discovery
Managing director Jon Reynolds said completion of the land access agreement would enable the company to progress ground exploration of its prospective Koongulla tenements.
He said: “In particular, Boadicea looks forward to progressing exploration of the much-anticipated Telfer-look-a-like dome feature previously announced, which has the potential to be a significant company making discovery.
“Boadicea looks forward to a long-term relationship with the Martu People on their native lands.”
The company’s three Koongulla tenements cover 612 square kilometres, with the Tefler-look-a like dome feature straddling the Koongulla and Koongulla East tenements (E45/5392 and E45/5866).
Its broad dimensions are estimated to be 7.5 kilometres long and 3 kilometres wide and its long axis is orientated in a northwest-southeast direction, representing the same scale and orientation as the Telfer Mine to the southwest.

The Land Access and Mineral Exploration Agreement has been completed with the Western Desert Lands Aboriginal Corporation (WDLAC) who are representatives of the Martu Native Title Holders.
Boadicea looks forward to working with the Martu People in an open and respectful way that reflects the historic ownership of the lands.
Additional airborne geophysics exploration
MAGSPEC Airborne Surveys Pty Ltd has been engaged to conduct the aeromagnetic survey on 100-metre spaced, east-west oriented lines covering 1,842 line kilometres.
This survey will complete the airborne geophysical survey for all three Koongulla tenements with a focus on the new Koongulla East tenement.
The completion of this survey will fill in known data gaps for the Koongulla Dome.
Assessment of the results will be completed by geophysical consultant, Southern Geoscience Consultants (SGS) in September 2021.
