Boadicea maps out target zones at Clarke Reward

This week’s Australian Resources and Investment news reports Boadicea Resources is planning an airborne geophysical program at the Clarke Reward gold project in Queensland after the company discovered five target zones for mineralisation.

The target zones were revealed in Boadicea’s high level geophysical review of Clarke Reward, which is located in the Drummond Basin.

Boadicea managing director Jon Reynolds said there is potential for Clarke Reward to have similar mineralisation to GBM Resources’ Mount Coolon project, which produced 590,000 tonnes at 12.2 grams per tonne of gold for 232,000 ounces of gold in the 1990s.

“The additional processing of the publicly available geophysical data has provided significant encouragement that the Clarke Reward project has potential for epithermal gold mineralisation similar to the nearby Mt Coolon mine and other significant deposits in the Drummond Basin,” he said.

“The board is well resourced to advance exploration work at Clarke Reward and grow the project’s mineralisation potential within the Boadicea portfolio of tenements.”

An airborne geophysical program will begin once contractor availability is confirmed by Boadicea.

Meanwhile, Boadicea and IGO have released assay results from the Symons Hill joint venture project in Western Australia, which have provided confidence for a nickel-copper sulphide discovery.

Boadicea signed a joint venture (JV) with IGO last year for exploration of the nickel-copper project in the Fraser Range. Symons Hill is located adjacent to IGO’s Nova operation.

The most promising interval from IGO’s 809-metre diamond drill hole at Symons Hill’s Orion prospect revealed nickel at 2.63 metres at 1222 parts per million (ppm) nickel and 480 ppm copper from 462.33 metres.

“This provides significant encouragement that Orion remains prospective for an accumulation of nickel-rich massive sulphides,” Reynolds said.

“We are strongly encouraged that IGO remains very confident about the Orion prospect and supports that confidence with the planning of additional holes along the Orion chonolith and other targets on our Symons Hill licence.”

Further drilling is currently being planned by IGO at Symons Hill with the company encouraged by the assay data.
