Boadicea latest results confirms three large-scale lithium anomalies
Boadicea Resources Ltd (ASX:BOA)’s Jon Reynolds discusses recent auger sampling results with Proactive’s Andrew Scott.
Jon Reynolds says he is encouraged by the large-scale lithium anomalies at the Bald Hill East tenement in the southern gold fields of Western Australia. Drilling here confirmed the presence of three large-scale lithium anomalies.
The latest results are another key milestone for the company in what has been a quick development timeline since Boadicea acquired the project in February 2022.
Jon Reynolds also makes mention of Bald Hill’s proximity to the Bald Hill lithium mining and processing operation, which includes a complete processing plant, target generation, the spread of commodities the company has and its focus on permitting and heritage clearances for drilling of targets to begin.
In the interview Jon Reynolds updates specifics on the large amount of activity being undertaken on the Boadicea suite of projects.
“We announced the results of the auger geochemical sampling which has clearly identified three significant anomalous regions within the Bald Hill East tenement. The anomalism covers lithium, caesium and rubidium and to a lesser extent tantalum which provides an excellent target for pegmatite hosted lithium.
“While we have always been somewhat confident of the tenement since we first looked at it at the start of the year, these results confirm our decision to acquire the project. These anomalies are proximal to each other and cover an area of approximately 2.5km x 2.5km which is not dissimilar to the aerial extent of the Bald hills resource.
“As the name implies, these anomalies are located approximately 3km to the east of the Bald Hill mine and processing plant. This provides a potential leg up on a commercial value of any lithium mineralisation. The scale of any deposit would be significantly smaller for it to be viable and that provides a huge competitive advantage over other similar lithium projects that may be more isolated. I should note, that we don’t have any agreement in place but just highlighting a key benefit of this project should we discover lithium mineralisation,” Jon Reynolds says.
Lithium remains a strong commodity. Boadicea is confident that the company’s commodity mix provides a strong balance of ‘new world’ electric vehicle exposure with the more traditional mix of base metals and gold.
Jon Reynolds says: “One of the key reasons for acquiring this project was the speed which it can be advanced. We have already demonstrated this with on-ground activities and confirmation of the anomalous lithium targets. We are now pushing hard to drilling these targets.
“We are currently working on the necessary approvals and heritage clearances and aim to get a drill rig on site as soon as possible. We are working towards drilling in the next quarter subject to all the clearances being completed,” Jon Reynolds says.
