Boadicea reveals massive sulphide electromagnetic target at Fraser South Project

In this week’s Proactive News reports Boadicea Resources Ltd (ASX:BOA) has identified a massive sulphide electromagnetic (EM) target at the newly named Snowys Prospect of its Fraser South Project in Western Australia’s Fraser Range.

This fresh target was discovered during an EM survey over the Fraser South and Southern Hills tenements, both of which are 100%-owned by BOA and outside the IGO Ltd joint venture area, and is considered highly conductive within the range expected for massive sulphides, at a relatively shallow depth of about 170 metres.

The company believes the target has potential for Nova-style nickel sulphides or volcanogenic massive sulphides (VMS) mineralisation systems and has begun planning and permitting efforts to drill test the anomaly at Snowys.

Boost to exploration endeavours

“Boadicea’s horizon for a successful exploration campaign has been significantly strengthened,” Boadicea Resources managing director Jon Reynolds said.

“The addition of the Snowys prospect, which is a massive sulphide mineralisation EM target, in our 100%-owned Fraser South project is a major boost to our exploration endeavours.

“We are currently advancing high quality projects in some of the best locations in Australia and the results from the recent geophysics in Fraser South provides a substantial goal-kicking potential for a nickel–base metal discovery.

“We look forward to getting the drilling under way at the Snowys prospect as soon as we have completed the necessary planning preparation.”

Large Fraser Range holding

Boadicea holds 836 square kilometres in the Fraser Range, home to the Nova nickel-copper-cobalt mine which produced 30,436 tonnes of nickel, 13,772 tonnes of copper, and 1,142 tonnes of cobalt in 2020.

There are 11 granted licences in the Fraser Range with nine of these tenements subject to a five-year exclusive access and exploration rights with IGO.

Southern Hills (E63/1951) and Fraser South (E63/1859) are 100% owned by Boadicea and are highly prospective for magmatic nickel and possibly volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) deposits.

Apart from Snowys, 10 additional priority targets have been identified by BOA in the EM survey across the Fraser South and Southern Hills tenements, offering plenty of potential exploration prospects for further investigation.
