Boadicea ready for drilling this week at Two Tanks Lithium Project

In two key exploration developments for Boadicea Resources Ltd (ASX:BOA), drilling kicked off at the Two Tanks Lithium Project in the Mt Ida district late May and an extensive geochemical survey is under way at Cat Camp Lithium Project in the Lake Johnston lithium province.

Boadicea Managing Director Jon Reynolds is interviewed by Andrew Scott of Proactive Investors updating shareholders and interested investors of the latest company exploration endeavours.

Boadicea Resources has been busy in the lithium space with its exploration focus ramping up. Jon Reynolds says it has been a very proactive period with on-ground exploration activities taking place at two of its lithium projects in Western Australia.

By the end of May 2023, Boadicea was drilling the Two Tanks project in the Mt Ida region and the company is currently completing a large geochemical survey on the Cat Camp project in the Lake Johnston lithium province.

Two Tanks Project

“The Two Tanks lithium project is highly prospective for lithium pegmatites and we are drilling to test a number of parallel pegmatites that have been mapped at the surface by our geologists.  The program is around 3,000 metres of RC drilling and is only testing a small part of the tenement that we have,” Jon Reynolds says.

A couple of the key features of this project are that the Mt Ida lithium (Delta Lithium) project is approximately 18km to the south in exactly the same geological setting, with the contact to the Copperfield granite.

This has a resource of 12.7Mt @ 1.2% lithium oxide.  The second key point is that the adjacent tenement is currently being drilled by St George mining as a follow up to their work on the Jailbreak lithium prospect, where they have identified known lithium mineralisation.

“As far as we know St George has completed the drilling and are awaiting assays.

“Our drilling should take about two weeks to complete and then there is a 4-8 week turnaround for assays so we should get results early Q3, 2023 and in the meantime we will be closely monitoring the St George results as our work is along strike of their drilling,” Jon Reynolds says.

Cat Camp geochemical survey

Boadicea has started an extensive geochemical survey across all of the prospective parts of the Cat Camp tenement.  The tenement is in the Lake Johnston region which is a highly attractive evolving lithium region.

The Cat Camp project has previously shown successful exploration for nickel and identified anomalous lithium bearing pegmatites. Opportunities exist as neither commodity has been completely tested.  Reverse Circulation (RC) and aircore (AC) drilling completed in 2001 and 2006 intersected several pegmatite units which have also been mapped at the surface by previous explorers. Pegmatite thicknesses up to 17m (downhole) have been intersected by the RC drilling.

“This activity is early stage but we are confident that a lithium drill target will result and we should have the results in 4-6 weeks,” Jon Reynolds says.

“Boadicea has spent the last 6-12 months accumulating five lithium focussed projects in highly prospective regions of Western Australia and Queensland and we are actively working through the exploration phases of each project.  This is culminating in the current activities with the most prospective projects at Two Tanks and Cat Camp.  The results of this drilling will start coming through in the next few months or so and we will update the market as soon as possible after we receive them,” Jon Reynolds says.
