Proactive Investors shines the spotlight on exploration work to be undertaken at Boadicea’s Symons Hill and Transline tenements.
The Proactive Investors article says: An exploration update from IGO provides encouragement for the presence of nickel sulphide mineralisation at the joint Boadicea/IGO tenements.
[Boadicea Resources – Boadicea Resources buoyed by IGO’s initial work and plans for Fraser Range nickel tenements]Boadicea Resources Ltd (ASX:BOA) is pleased with the initial progress made by IGO Ltd (ASX:IGO) at the joint nickel sulphide prospective tenements on Western Australia’s prolific Fraser Range.
The company is also encouraged by IGO’s extensive work program planned for the high-priority Symons Hill and Transline tenements during the first quarter of 2021 and will be watching intently.
Last year, IGO secured five-year exclusive access and exploration rights for nine Boadicea tenements on the Fraser Range.
This is part of a conditional sale agreement between Boadicea and IGO Newsearch Pty Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of IGO Ltd, a Fraser Range producer and prolific explorer.
“Update provides further support”
Boadicea managing director Jon Reynolds said: “The latest exploration update from IGO provides further support that Boadicea’s tenements are of significant interest to IGO with its focus on both the Symons Hill and Transline licences which are exceptionally prospective for nickel sulphide mineralisation.
“We look forward to receiving and presenting further details of the exploration work as they become available.”
Work in December quarter
Between October 1 and December 31, 2020, IGO completed a review of previous heritage surveys on the Symons Hill tenement (E28/1932) and these were found to include all currently proposed diamond drill hole priority areas.
The integration of BOA drilling, geochemical and geophysical data into IGO’s databases is ongoing while IGO also completed a reconnaissance trip to Symons Hill assessing the rehabilitation status of tracks and drill pads, track conditions, and access conditions for geophysical and heritage surveys.
IGO has reviewed geophysical data with priority areas identified for further work.
A proposed Moving Loop Electromagnetic Survey (MLEM) survey using a low-temperature SQUID sensor has been planned.
This will follow interpreted extensions to the Orion, Elara and Hercules mafic-ultramafic intrusions onto the Symons Hill tenement from IGO’s Nova Mining Lease.
Diamond drill plans
IGO also completed desktop studies targeting potential areas for diamond drilling at Symons Hill.
A data review and re-logging program of the highly prospective Orion chonolith on the Nova lease was undertaken, with a focus on structural controls and emplacement direction.
This model, in conjunction with results from the planned MLEM survey, will be used to plan diamond drill holes targeting the Orion chonolith on the Symons Hill tenement in the first half of 2021.
Activities planned for first half
In the short-term, the IGO exploration team plans to finish clearing on the Symons Hill tenement to allow MLEM surveying and diamond drilling to proceed.
The low-temperature SQUID MLEM survey comprising 499 stations will then proceed on Symons Hill with IGO intending to finalise diamond drill locations targeting the Orion chonolith.
Other work plans include:
- ion modelling of potential field data for Symons Hill;
- Continuing integration of Boadicea data into IGO’s database;
- Program of Works applications for selective aircore drilling in 2021;
- MLEM survey over an area including the Transline West 1 and Transline West 2 tenements;
- Ongoing review and interpretation of historical work to determine additional target areas on Symons Hill and other Boadicea-IGO tenements;
- Further early-stage systematic sampling of these and other target areas in both projects; and
- A review all geophysical targets that cannot be effectively screened with geochemistry for the potential testing using ground-based moving loop electromagnetics (MLEM).
Under the sale agreement, IGO has five-year exclusive access and exploration rights for nine Fraser Range tenements – Symons Hill, Giles, White Knight, Transline North, Transline South, Transline West 1, Transline West 2, South Plumridge and Giles South.
