Boadicea discovery could be earlier mine maker for Bald Hill East
The exploration year is well under way for Boadicea. Work has started on the nearly acquired Bald Hill East lithium tenement in the Eastern Goldfields of Western Australia.
The purchase agreement was announced late last year with the purchase being completed last month.
Boadicea Managing Director Jon Reynolds presented in an interview with Proactive Investors this week where he advised the company had completed an auger geochemical sampling program across most of the tenement.
“The samples are in the lab at the moment and as soon as I get the results we will release them to the market,” Jon Reynolds said.
“The sampling is following up on some previously identified coincident caesium, rubidium and lithium anomalism. The aim of this program is to identify the area for drilling potential lithium pegmatites, which subject to rig availability and a heritage survey we could aim to do in Q2 or early Q3 this year.
The potential for Bald Hill East
There are a number of features that attracted Boadicea to this project. These include:
– The lithium anomalism
– Interpreted to be along strike of the Bald Hill deposit
– The Bald Hill project has a mine and processing plant within 2km of our project
– Looking for a potential satellite deposit changes the commercial nature of any lithium
– The ability to turn a discovery into revenue can be significantly faster than a ‘stranded’ deposit without infrastructure
Progress of other projects
Jon Reynolds tells the market of the challenges with getting on ground activities progressed in Western Australia.
“COVID lockdowns and restrictions and a hot resources industry have brought challenges with obtaining field crews. We have just about overcome those with commitments for work at all of our Western Australia projects.
“I was in Perth last week meeting with a few key stakeholders and suppliers and there was a positive feel about completion of key activities.”
Exploration activities planned
– Bald Hill East- geochemical sampling to identify lithium drill targets.
– Koongulla – To complete a ground gravity survey on the Koongulla project. An airborne gravity crew is available in May. An experienced geologist as been appointed to working on getting access clearances for drilling at the Koongulla Dome.
– Fraser Range tenements an EM survey will be completed shortly targeting nickel sulphides.
– Geological consultants, Map to Mine, has been reviewing Boadicea’s Queensland projects.
Jon Reynolds met with IGO representatives while in Perth and there will be a progress announcement on their activities early next month.
“They have identified a couple of very interesting (dare I say exciting opportunities, that we will look to announce after I have been to the sites, scheduled for early next month.
“Collectively these projects are looking better,” Jon Reynolds said.
The remainder of 2022 will be very active for progressing Boadicea exploration activities.
“As Western Australia opens up post CoVID I am definitely seeing increased activity and more specifically for Boadicea our planning and coordination of key activities is coming to fruition.
“Tackling four separate projects simultaneously, with Bald Hill Lithium, Fraser Range Nickel, Koongulla gold/copper and the Queensland projects which consist of lithium and gold all look for a busy period of news flow,” Jon Reynolds said.
